Uncle Sam screws me over. Again.

Time for taxes again and like every whole hearted American, I hate doing them. I hate doing them not because I hate paying them (well I do hate paying them and how much I have to pay them simply because of where I live but that is a whole other rant all together) but I HATE the stupid fucking penalties that I incur.

One huge penalty, not filing taxes jointly with my separated husband. I have choose this year to not file with him because of the 1) the hassle of actually cashing the damn check and 2) the amount of jobs he has had in the last year that could cause the final price of the filing to be more that what I actually get back. Why in the fucking world is it a damn penalty to not file together? Do you really think it promotes marital harmony because it forces us to?

Yes I know that there is a lot of things I 'don't get' in tax laws but you have to admit, taxes are getting ridiculous.

When I look at my paycheck, I am on the verge of tears every time. Out of every paycheck nearly $800 is gone towards state and federal. Seriously?!?!

Ugh.

It was never this bad when I lived it Florida.

It's motivating me hard to save for my move back.
