As a shanghaied member of the League of Gentlemen Adventurers, I am obligated to its very persuasive (if not downright awesome) members to attending their First Annual Invitational International Croquet Tournament and Symposium.
Well, not really obligated but it just sounds downright fun! And in honor of the event I will be making two Victorian period correct outfits just for the event! And on top of that I will be making jewelery to be sold at the event.
As for the outfits, I am not sure if I will be making a one piece dress using calico print or should I make multiple pieces that can interchange and reuse for other purposes. I was thinking about making a Gibson blouse using white cotton, a twill walking skirt in a brown or tan color, and a vest of some sort. Of course going to need a nice walking hat or maybe a parasol but that should be easy enough. And because of friend of mine is going as well, going to have to make a man's walking outfit. That's going to be a bit hard since I have never, ever made menswear. Going to be doing a bit of research before I get started next week.
Going to make some necklaces and earring to sell at the event but going to make steampunk or Edwardian style jewelery. Oh I am going to be living in Michaels for the next month LOL!
For those reading this and are living in San Diego, please attending if you are interested. There is a $10 fee to particiate and I suggest you leave a message on the LGA website post if you want to attend. The event is limited to 40 people so make your intentions known now.
