I got my car back yesterday from the shipping company and everything that was suppose to be there was. No extra dents, no extra cracks, and everything is as it should be. Including the inch of dust that I had accumilated inside my car. I really, really need to take care of my car.
So yesterday after I picked up the car and proceeded to follow Felixx back to Helen's house (where we are currently staying at thanks to her and her wonderful mother's generosity) I came to a few realizations. First off, my car has absolutely no power to go up fucking inclines. I was driving on the 805 South going on this ramp that ends at the bottom of a hill, going from 60 mph to 45 mph. But as I got to the bottom of the hill and attempted to accelerate to back up to 60 mph I looked at my speedometer and it said 42 mph. AND IT STAYED THERE while my foot was flooring the gas pedal. I even stomped on the gas pedal several times and the car didn't even lurch a mile over. Everyone was flying by me and I feel like I am stuck at 42 mph on this hill incline.
Then I realized that this car has been in Florida all its life and now it will never see flat ground again.
That realization led me to another realization that this car will not last me any longer than a year at this rate. Here's my thinking on that. As it is the car is in somewhat in bad shape. It has a crack in the cam shaft that was discovered when I had all the seals in engine changed a few weeks ago. Now if my car has to attempt to climb hills from now on, placing more stress on the engine when it never had this type of 'climbing' stress, I can only imagine how much long the engine will last. I get the feeling that this care won't last me any longer than a year if I am lucky. And I have been told that my car won't pass smog check here anyways so I will try to keep the FL plates as long as I can. Ugh, I hope I make enough money at this new place to save for another damn car. I hate being at the mercy of an iffy source of transportation.
JR, if you are reading this, please go check the PO BOX sometime next week for me. I will be letting you know my new addy soon for you to send my shit to. Thank! MUAH!
Okay, what else...
Oh, I went to a local goth club event called Sabbat last night and it was pretty cool. It was held at a club called The Flame and the venue was really nice. 2 dances floors and one chill room with different music in each room. The drinks were reasonably priced and it the crowd was interesting mix. Felixx and I both went to say hello again to his old friends and for me to be introduced to some them. I met some pretty cool new people that were long time friends of Felixx's. Its been a while since I went out to something like this and was not use to getting home at 3:30 in the morning. Why do I feel like an old fart for typing that previous sentence? =/
Another interesting thing about yesterday was that we found an all you can eat Sushi place in La Jolla. Yeah, it was expensive but DAMN it was fucking GOOD for all you can it. I had all the nigiri I want and let me tell you I walked out of there happy. I can see myself hitting Tadashi once every few months. So between this place and Nijiya Market, I have the ultimate sources for japanese cuisine. Now I have to find a dim sum place and I should be fine culinary wise.
So the next thing is moving into the 2 bedroom we got, hopefully by Monday night if not Tuesday, getting all the utilities set up, unpack (YAY!!), and land a new job.
Damnit, I fucking miss Guild Wars. I'm a geek I know.

Convoy Street (off Balboa) has some great dim sum places but I can't think of the name offhand.
Gahhh... I was *thisclose* to going to Sabbat last night but lost track of time trying to get my shaman up to 40.
Yea I'll check the box as soon as I locate that key you gave me. ;p
You don't by any chance remember where I put it, do ya? :D
