Things that make me happy about being in San Diego

Well I have been here for 4 days and have found several joys and pitfalls about San Diego. But the joys outweigh the pitfalls to the point where I can just deal with it.

1) Apartments: Okay apparently people here who own property in San Diego are too fucking lazy to manage their own property so they have property management companies do it. And in San Diego your credit is a BIG determining factor if you get a place or not and how much in a deposit its gonna cost you. Well I had enough of a credit to even get us a two bedroom apartment but not without costing me an arm and half a leg. But it's worth it. It's a freaking two bedroom for less than a thousand dollars in a Hillcrest.

2) The Food: I had several foodgasms today. First I went to this thai chicken place called Saffron and it was the best chicken I have had in years. Fresh, tender, juicy rotisserie thai chicken with the best peanut sauce I have ever had. Then Felixx surprise me with a suprise trip to 99 Ranch Market (aka Chinese Disneyland). I had forgotten how cool that place is. Everything that I could ever want for chinese cuisine is totally available at the lowest prices and the freshest quality I have ever seen. Today I bought a pound of Lychee fruit for $1.68. In Florida I would have paid $3.50 a pound. But the best part: Sushi grade SEAFOOD at rediculously affordable prices. I can eat IKURA for dinner every night if I wanted. Also, SD is making it really easy for me to consider becoming vegetarian beacuse it is sooo vegetarian and vegan friendly around here.

3) Driving: It is much easier to get around here than it was in Miami. Why? Cause they have highways like crazy. And the highways are 4 to 3 lanes wide so I haven't had any issues with traffic congestion as of yet. But the drivers here are just as aggressive, rude and inconsiderate.
I am going to pray the moment I get my back car back and star driving around here.

4) Alternative Scene: There is acutally an alternative scene here and they have shops and places that cater to the alternative crowd. And the music scene here is sooo awesome. I can also find cool, funky, gothic, punkish clothes without having to go to Hot Topic. And some of the clothing places are like bargin recycle second hand stores. Just today I got a few pieces for less than half what I can find in regular stores. And it was in awesome condition and it fits perfectly. Now I can't wait to see what the club scene is like.

So, I have survived the last four days and things are looking on the up and up. And now that we found an apartment, things should be moving along.

Next on the list, a job...
