24 hour coffee house rules!

This is the first time I have ever encounted a 24 hour coffee house and in San Diego its called Lestat's. And let me tell you right now, it's 11:16pm and its nearly packed with constant traffic. Another perk about this place besides its coffee... Free wireless internet. I still don't have internet at the new apartment and probably won't for another week or so. So I will be bouncing from one free wireless to another for now.

Since my last update I have eaten at several different restaurants, spent over $200 at an Ikea furnishing the new apartment, found new gorcery stores that are NOTHING like Publix, and realized that this area has the cheapest and highest quality fresh fruits and veggies around. And when I go to a restaurant and order anything with veggies they use the fresh kind around and it makes such a difference in the taste of food. Just tonight alone I had the best Vietmanese food I have ever had and I barely broke my wallet. BARELY!

Oh, on the job front, I had my first interview at Scripps Research Institute on Wednesday and tomorrow morning I have my second interview with the hiring manager. I have no idea what I am getting myself with this job but the company is absolutely tits ('tits" as in really good thing). The best thing about this company is that they give you FREE medical, dental, and life insurance benefits on the date of hire. There are other really good perks the medical benefits are the best so far. So let's see if I get this job and how far I can take it.

Also another thing I noticed about San Diego is the amount of concerts there are on a nearly daily basis. I was reading The Reader (SD's version of the Miami New Times) and it showed listing for concerts such as Gary Neuman, The Psychedelic Furs, Massive Attach, TV ON THE RADIO, and so on. I think my eyes were glued to the music/concert page for nearly 45 minutes. Man, I better make a lot of money at whatever job I get cause I will be spending it like crazy between concerts, food, theater tickets and etc.

On a side note, I notice something the last few days. My Miami friends will know what I mean when I say that there is a lot of Cuban or hispanic "princess" in Miami and they strut just about everywhere. Here it's not the princesses that rules but the Ultra Fashionistas and/or the Neo-Goth trend princess that strut about in their fucking 5 inch heals will wearing a paragraph skirt. Or you get the ultra sheek thrift store 80's throw back Mods that walk about with sunglasses that cover HALF of their face and the sloppy shag hair. And just about all of them look the same or at least popped out of the same mold.

So that has led me to this ultimate conclusion: There is no such thing as uniqueness but rather rehashed style conformed to modern times.

But its really fun gwaking at them!

Okay time for some conversation with my lover and time for bed.

Till next time folks!
