Does anyone know where in the hell I can get a LIVE Christmas Tree? I mean a tree that has not been cut off at the roots and its in a planter.
We want to enjoy a live tree and after christmas, we will drive out to the mountains near Julian and plant the tree. Considering much the woodland was burnt to a crisp due to the fires of a few years ago, we thought this would be a great idea.
So anyone know??

I have a couple of real nice ones on my property. Help yourself! ;}
Home Depot usually has some in pots but they are usually around 4' tall, not really big.
If you're looking for a cute itty bitty one, Trader Joe's has some that run up to a foot and a half. You have to pay attention to those, though, because I think the teeny ones I got for here and my desk at work are Junipers.
I Googled for you too, and you may be able to find bigger ones, but it looks like they'll be a bit of a drive...http://www.signonsandiego.com/feature/495/santa.html
I do remember getting a potted tree at Home Depot a few years ago, but she's right, they only get up to about four feet. That's not necessarily a bad size, though, especially in an apartment.
Also, since you'd probably need to get permission from the rangers to plant on National Park ground, if you'd like for me to ask, a friend that has recently finished her rebuild in Julian would probably be delighted to have you plant a tree on her property.
