So for the last three weeks I have been stupidly ill. And to make matters worse, I had to work while I was ill because the company I work for does not take kindly to those who are are sick. I was coughing incessantly at night to the point where I was not able to sleep. During the day I had cold sweats and high spiking fevers through out the day. I basically felt like I was rioting from the inside out. I went to the Downtown/Hillcrest urgent care twice and both times they insisted it was viral and gave me nothing but cough syrup that was suppose to knock me out. Well it didn't work at all and all it really did was make me throw up.
After 3 weeks I decided to go find a primary care physician. FINALLY someone diagnosed me properly: walking pneumonia, bronchitis, and a sinus infection. Because the pneumonia had gone longer than it should, I have developed asthma.
Awesome.
So now I am on antibiotics, two types of inhalators, and a cough syrup that is soooo thick that I have to chew it. But I am on my way to recovery.
So today I decided that I was well enough to go for a walk and decided to go drop of half of the rent check at the old apartment. When I got there I looked at the front window of the apartment and there was good o'Kaiser sitting on his perch sleeping. I slid the check under the door and looked back up at the window. This time he was awake and looking at me. But he wasn't reacting. Normally when he sees me at the window he would walk down to the side closest to me and start rubbing up against the window with a few meows for good measure.
But I got nothing.
I waved at him, said his name and smiled.
And I got nothing.
He just looked at me like I was a total stranger.
I tapped lightly on the window and said mouthed his name again.
He just sat there, staring at me like he didn't even know me.
Needless to say I walked away from the apartment broken hearted. I guess this was bound to happen. This is what I get really.
He is not my cat anymore. I never cried so hard in my life.
