One of my favorite writers of the 20th centery died today. And I have to be honest, I'm actually a bit sad about it. One of the rare authors who's books not only enlightened me as a human being but kept me kind of sane in the darkest parts of my life.
My favorite quote from God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater:
“Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you’ve got about a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies — ‘God damn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
